Ever since I was a little girl,I loved fashion. I would always choose outfits that some would call eclectic. As, I got older and life started to throw it's challenges at me, I had to figure out what I wanted to do with myself and my life. As a single mother with two children, who has overcome so much adversity, I lost myself. However, two things remained. My love for cooking and my love for fashion. After having children and dealing with the hardships of life, I gained weight, and it became hard for me to find clothing. Yes, there are many stores that offer plus size clothing, but not to my liking. I decided "why not start my own clothing boutique?" However, I wanted to do something special with my children, because they have been with me through every step in this journey. I also wanted to create a legacy with them that could live forever while teaching them the value of faith, hard work, and love. I have two living children, however, along my journey, I miscarried three of my children whose names were Dwane jr., Malikai, and Dante, and just like that DMD was born. In order to get through such a hard time in my life with losing my children, I had to pray, I had to be resilient, I had to work hard, and I had to find love in the little things that we too often take for granted. DMD is not about just the names behind the initials, but a feeling of persevering through life's challenges and looking and feeling your best while you do it.
